"Necessary surveillance, installation of CCTV cameras has been done on the routes," he said.

He sought cooperation from the public for the smooth conduct of the final immersion programme and also requested public not to believe in any rumours of any kind in social media.

Police will take all possible steps to prevent any untoward incident, Reddy added.

This year more than one lakh idols have been installed in the entire state besides small idols in houses or streets.

The police has contacted organisers of the pandals to register themselves online and geo-tagging of all the idols has been done.

The immersion process is going on in most parts of the state, Reddy said adding arrangements have been made at water bodies/lakes at all the immersion points which include Hussain Sagar, Saroornagar, Kapra, Ameenpur lakes and in total over 50 places in and around Hyderabad.

So far, immersion has been incident-free in important places inlcuding Bhainsa, Tandoor, Sangareddy, Bodhan, Jagityal and Nizamabad, he said.
