Elderly man bludgeoned to death by son in UP

An elderly man was allegedly bludgeoned to death by his son in Jagmohan area of the city, police said today.
Dhir Singh, 63-year-old retired school teacher, was found dead on his bed yesterday with injury marks on his head and other body parts. His son, Nain Singh, allegedly bludgeoned him with a hammer on Tuesday night after getting into a brawl with him, police said.
The accused was reportedly a heavy drinker and used to frequently fight with his father, according to Nain Singh's brother, Kuldeep.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection and the accused has been apprehended, they said, adding that the murder weapon has also been recovered from the crime scene.

During interrogation, the accused confessed of murdering his father with a hammer on Tuesday, police said.
