committed suicide today by shooting himself with a country-made revolver at his residence, police said.
The man identified as Dr Suryaprakash Sharma (82), allegedly shot himself early this morning and was father of Indore's Superintendent of Police Anil Sharma, a police official posted in Madhav Nagar police station said.
He was suffering from serious ailments like cancer and diabetes, he said, adding, his wife had passed away earlier, he said.
Sharma was survived by three sons and a daughter and all of them are serving class one officers.
In his suicide note, Sharma stated that he had purchased the country-made revolver for his personal security around 24-25 years ago when he was posted at Ambah town in Morena district, the officer said.
Further investigations were on, police said.
