Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president, V M Sudheeran today said elections to the 16th Lok Sabha would be 'very decisive'.
Addressing a meet-the-press programme of the Thrissur Press Club today, Sudheeran said dominance of 'communal-fascist' forces at the helm of the affairs of the country would be unhealthy for its overall progress based on secularism , equality before law and social justice to all.
Sudheeran said under the circumstances, an administrative set up irrespective of caste, religion, creed and colour was the need of the hour and only the Congress would provide that as it upholds the policies of unity and national integration.
On the Kasturirangan panel report on the conservation of Western ghats, he said with the publication of the draft notification amending the recommendations in adherence with Kerala Government's stand by the Environment Ministry, their anxiety would be eased and staus quo would be maintained.
On the row sparked by memoirs of a former inmate of the Mata Amritanandamayi mutt, he said it was understood that action had been initiated against the ashram, adding, it was the bounden duty of the person who made allegations to submit proof to substantiate them.
Similarly, it was essential on the part of the Ashram and its head to prove that the allegations were untrue and baseless and they were the results of the previous enmity and frustration, Sudheeran said.
Australian woman Gail Tredwell has claimed in her book--Holy hell: a memoir of faith, devotion and pure madness-- that she had been a close disciple of the ashram founder, Mata Amritanandamayi for several years and lived there for several years before escaping after being fed up with some bitter experiences.
The ashram has refuted the allegations, describing them as totally unfounded and that the institution had been functioning in a transparent manner.
