Electoral triumphs an endorsement of govt's performance:Jaya

AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today said her party's repeated electoral triumphs since 2011 was an "endorsement" by the people of her government's performance even as she took potshots at rival DMK.
In her message to party workers and supporters on the eve of the 106th birth anniversary of Dravidian veteran and former Chief Minister, C N Annadurai, she said her government was working in line with his principles for people's welfare.
"The big support given by people to All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in the Assembly elections (in 2011), local body polls (in the same year), Lok Sabha polls (in April 2014) and many bypolls is an endorsement (for the performance of) my government," she said.

She urged party workers to vow to continue serving people in the line of Annadurai and AIADMK founder MG Ramachandran to ensure their 'love and support' remained forever.
Taking a dig at her arch-rival, DMK president M Karunanidhi, Jayalalithaa said while Annadurai had founded that party with the aim of ensuring the betterment of Tamil community, an "evil force" later "usurped it."
"The world is laughing with pity at the sight of that evil force today getting caught in a maze in the political arena," she said in an apparent reference to the internal squabbles in DMK besides its poor showing in elections including the Lok Sabha polls.

"Anna is the life breath of our movement; a great leader who struggled for the growth of Tamil community and commands our gratitude and respect," she said and asked the cadre to celebrate his birth anniversary by garlanding his portraits and distributing sweets.
