The calf had strayed from its herd and was found in a yard at Sreekantapuram section of Thaliparambu range in Kannur district, Wayanad Wildlife Warden P Dhanesh Kumar said today.
On getting information, a team of forest officials, visited the spot and rescued the calf after giving medical treatment, he said.
The calf was brought to the camp on Sunday.
The new ember has arrived in the midst of efforts being made to expand the camp, which has three adult elephants and two calves, by bringing in more elephants.
