Eloped couple traced

A couple, who had allegedly eloped owing to family opposition to their relationship, were traced from the Nepal border, police said today.
The 18-year-old girl and her boyfriend Pervaiz were traced last evening, they said.
Pervaiz was arrested and sent to jail and girl will be produced in court today for recording her statement in this connection, Circle Officer Sanjive Vachpayee told reporters here.
Following the incident, irate locals lodged a protest last night demanding that the girl be handed over to her parents.
The girl, a dalit, had allegedly eloped with her boyfriend Pervaiz, belonging to a different community in Brahampuri locality here on August 25.

Tension had prevailed over the girl's elopement and protests were held over the incident.
The girl's family had lodged a complaint against six persons including her boyfriend Pervaiz and his mother Praveen, brother Savaiz and Abhishek, Arpit, Shubham for abducting the girl.
