The 67-year-old English singer-songwriter will tie the knot with his longtime partner following the same-sex marriage legalisation in England.
John's spokesman Gary Farrow confirmed that the weekend ceremony would be private, reported Us magazine.
After the same-sex marriage was legalised in England in March, John discussed his upcoming nuptials with Furnish.
"We'll do it very quietly," he told 'Today' host Matt Lauer. "But we will do it and it will be a joyous occasion and we will have our children," he had said.
"I'm very proud of Britain and the laws that we've seen come into existence since we've been together," John, who underwent civil partnership with David in 2005, said.
He continued, "So for this legislation to come through is joyous, and we should celebrate it. We shouldn't just say, 'Oh, well we have a civil partnership. We're not going to bother to get married.' We will get married."
John and Furnish started dating in 1993. They have two sons, born via a surrogate, 3-year-old Zachary and 23-month-old Elijah.
