Emergency drill at Tarapur Atomic Power Station

Tarapur Atomic Power Station (TAPS) in the district will conduct an 'off site emergency exercise' tomorrow to check preparedness of the district authorities in the case of radioactive emergency.
The biennial exercise is a regulatory requirement, said TAPS Site Director, Ravindranath.
Various departments and agencies of the state government such as revenue department, police, civil defence, home guard, health department, transport department, RTO, agricultural department, etc, would participate in the drill.
