Employees of the National Health Mission in Nagaland Thursday observed a 12-hour cease work in support of their demands including regularisation of their service, a top union leader said.
The apex body of NHM employees - All India National Health Mission Employees Association had given the call for 12-hour cease work.
Addressing at the press conference here, National Health Mission Employees Association Nagaland (NEAN) president Dr Shasinlo Magh and general secretary Kewetso Kenye, said that the strike was to press for long pending demands.
The cease work was against non-fulfilment of their four point charter, which include equal work equal pay, basis services benefit for NHM employees, framing and implementation of HR policy as per Central government guidelines and regularisation of service, they said.
The NHM employees converged at the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare here demanding the fulfilment of the long pending demands.
Magh said around 2000 NHM employees in Nagaland have been rendering their services for the last 15 years on contract basis on minimum wages without any social, financial or service security under the aegis of Central government's flagship programme of National Health Mission.
