Encroachments taken place during DMK regime, alleges minister

Tamil Nadu Municipal Administration Minister S P Velumani today alleged that encroachments in the state had taken place during the DMK regime, which had resulted in pathetic situation during the recent rains.
Talking to reporters here, the encroachments were taking place during the previous regimes of DMK, by which there were no pathway for the water to flow, resulting in flooding at various places.
The government was taking relief measures on war footing. However, the opposition parties were spreading canard and giving wrong information about the relief measures, to give a bad name to the Government, he said.
Velumani was here to inaugurate the 58th State Level Athletic meet for secondary and higher secondary schools, in which over 2,300 students from 16 zone of the State are participating.
