Aditya Kashyap student of a city-based college was arrested for hitting his former lover and her friend following an altercation, a police press release here said.
Police sources said investigations were also on to ascertain how the student came into possession of the gun.
Kashyap, hailing from Bihar, had in possession some certificates of the girl and she wanted them back. She along with her friend went to meet him.
An altercation broke out between Kashyap and the two and he attacked them with the rear side of a gun he had kept concealed, the release said adding the two sustained injuries.
The injured were admitted to a private hospital.
