Broad was struck by a Varun Aaron bouncer that squeezed between the grille and peak of his helmet while batting during England first innings on the third day of the fourth Test at Old Trafford yesterday.
A bloodied Broad retired hurt and did not bowl during India's second innings as the tourists were dismissed in 43 overs to give England an innings victory and a 2-1 lead in the series.
England lead the five-match series 2-1 with one Test remaining.
