"Ripper" Jayanandan, who escaped from the Poojappura Central jail in June, was today nabbed by police at Nellayi near Puthukkad in Thrissur district.
Jayanandan, an accused in seven murder and 14 robbery cases, and another convict Prakashan had given the slip to prison authorities on June 10. Prakashan was held from Kayamkulam on June 18 while Jayanandan was arrested today, police said.
Hailing from Mala in Thrissur district, Jayanandan was awarded capital punishment by the trial court for brutal murders, which was later commuted to life imprisonment by the Kerala High Court. He committed the murders during robbery attempts.
