Essar Steel's captive power plant at its pellet facility in Visakhapatnam, which had taken a battering from cyclone Hudhud last October, is back on its feet.
"The 30-mw plant is being operated at full capacity and has begun supplying power to the 8-mt per annum pellet plant," the company said in a statement.
The plant was in a bad shape last year, with its equipment getting severely damaged.
In addition, Essar Steel has also restored 52 acres of green belt on the plant premises which had also borne the brunt.
Essar Steel currently has an annual capacity of 14 million tonnes with operations in India, Canada, the US and Indonesia.
