"A decision has been taken by the cabinet to shift the existing jail in Etawah as it has come under the city limits having large population. The new jail will be constructed in village Phulapur in Saifai tehsil of Etawah on 61.83 acres of land," Chief Secretary Javed Usmani said.
When asked whether there was any government policy to shift jail, which came under populated area, Usmani said that there was no such policy and the decision has been taken for this particular city only.
