Security agencies will soon approach the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University seeking strict action against Ram Lal Anand College teacher G N Saibaba for his alleged links with banned Naxals.
Security agencies have found evidence of Saibaba's alleged direct communication with some absconding CPI(Maoist) leaders, including General Secretary Muppalla Laxmana Rao alias Ganpati, sources said.
Maharashtra Police, along with the Delhi Police had carried out search at the premises of Saibaba here yesterday and seized various articles like computer hard disk, laptop, mobile phones and literature from his possession.
The search was conducted before independent witnesses and it was also videographed. It was carried out on the basis of disclosures made by two overground workers of banned CPI(Maoist) - Hem Mishra and Prashant Rahi - who were arrested by the Maharashtra Police, sources said.
Security agencies have been claiming that Saibaba has been associated with an organisation called the Revolutionary Democratic Front, considered to be a front outfit of CPI(Maoist). The RDF has been proscribed by the Andhra Pradesh government.
Sources said Saibaba's name had earlier surfaced during the interrogation of jailed Politburo member of CPI(Maoist) Kobad Ghandy. Security agencies claimed that Ghandy had disclosed that Saibaba was the 'all India coordinator' for the mass organisations of the CPI(Maoist).
"We will approach the Delhi University VC with the evidence gathered against Saibaba for strict action against him," sources said.
