A former Janata Dal MLA Mohan
Ram died today at his residence at Bela Mohalla here after a brief illness.
He was 58.
Ram is survived by two wives and and three sons.
His mortal remains were consigned to flames on the embankment of the Bagmati river, family sources said.
Ram represented Darbhanga (Rural)(SC) seat in the state legislative assembly for one term between 1995 and 2000.
He also served as Darbhanga Regional Development Authority (DRDA) Chairman.
Convicted to life imprisonment in a murder case, Ram was lodged in Divisional jail at Darbhanga and was recently released on parole in view of his serious medical condition.
