A government dispensary in Haryana and its staff are under scanner for allegedly providing medical aid to the assailants who had sustained bullet injuries during the attack on former INLD legislator Bharat Singh last Sunday which left him dead.
According to police, there were a total of eight armed assailants, of whom co-conspirator Hemant, Pradhan Sunil, Ravi alias Chooza and Deva sustained bullet injuries in the retaliatory fire made by Singh's PSOs.
They escaped and went to the house of one Manjeet Mahal in Mitraon village Najafgarh where they were given first aid. Key conspirator Udaiveer alias Kale joined them there, following which they fled from Delhi in a Scorpio to Haryana.
"We have arrested five persons involved in the attack which includes Pradhan Sunil who was among the injured attackers. They have revealed that they got medical aid at a government-run dispensary in Haryana where they have some sort of a 'setting'. We have asked south-west district police to verify and probe this angle," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav told PTI.
On April 1, the police had recovered the Scorpio which was used in the commission of the crime from Kharkunda area in Haryana.
38-year-old Singh was attacked by eight armed men on last Sunday evening. The attackers had reached the spot in an SUV. At least 15-20 rounds of bullets were fired. Singh was later declared dead at Medanta hospital in Gurgaon.
Singh had received six bullets, including two in his head from close range.
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has claimed to have solved the sensational murder of the former Najafgarh MLA with the arrest of five persons including Udaiveer and Raman Gurang, a former ASI of Punjab Police.
Besides them, the police has also arrested Pradhan Sunil, Pehalwan Sube and Mohit Nagar in connection with the case.
