Cadres of two militant outfits were engaged in a gun battle in Manipur's Tengnoupal district early Friday morning, a police officer said.
The exchange of fire took place between suspected militants of the Kuki National Army (KNA) and United Kuki Liberation Front (UNLF) near Moreh town which is close to the Indo-Myanmar border, the officer said.
Superintendent of police, Tengnoupal, S Ibomcha Singh while talking to PTI over telephone said that police recovered one pistol and a hand grenade from the spot of firing, near Electricity office, Moreh.
The firing lasted about half an hour and there may be some injuries as blood was found at the spot, the SP added.
