About 250 kg of ammonium nitrate, 1500 detonators, 400 gelatine sticks and 700 metres of fuse wire, were seized from the possession of Mehaboob (39) and Haris (36), both belonging to Mukkam, the police said.
During a vehicle check, a police team intercepted the car around 4.30 AM and effected the seizure, they said.
When the accused were questioned, they said the explosive materials were meant for quarrying purposes but could not produce proper documents and were arrested, the police added.
