ExxonMobil to set up business suppport centre in B'luru

Karnataka government today said ExxonMobil, a US-based international oil and gas company, will be establishing a new Business Support Center in the city later this year to provide a range of technical and business support services for the company, globally.
The President of ExxonMobil Global Services Company Bryan Milton called on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah here today.
"We are excited to add a new location to our global business support center network, which provide services to operations in 120 countries. Bengaluru was selected among several locations in India," Milton was quoted as saying by the government in a release.
He said with a multi-million dollar investment, the business support center in Bengaluru will be similar in size to others in the ExxonMobil global network and is expected to provide more than 1000 positions.
Stating that the support received from the Government of Karnataka was excellent and instrumental in establishing the center, Milton said "This support complements the skilled talent and infrastructure in Bengaluru, which together offer a good fit for a center that will assist company operations in the region and globally."
ExxonMobil afftliates currently operates facilities in Bengaluru, Gurgaon, New Delhi and Mumbai.
Pointing out that ExxonMobil uses technology and innovation to help meet the World's growing energy needs, the release said the company that holds an industry-leading inventory of resources is the largest refiner and marketer of petroleum products and its chemical company is one of the largest in the World.
Milton said ExxonMobil designed its global business support center network to improve efficiency and effectiveness by centralising and integrating business processes.
The decision to establish a new business support center is part of the company's ongoing commitment to evaluate its global businesses and opportunities to ensure alignment with its overall strategic business objectives,he added.
