The man identified as Mejarul Haque (30), a resident of Mandalpara under Shibganj police station limits of Chapai Nawabganj district, was apprehended and handed over to the police.
He was taken to Baishnabnagar police station for interrogation and the police is trying to find out if here is any involvement of any militant outfit in this connection, Malda additional superintendent of police Abhishekh Modi said.
The fake currency seized from him was in the denomination of 500 and 1,000 rupees notes, Modi said.
