Family attempts suicide, three killed

Five members of a family today attempted to commit suicide and three of them died after being run over by a moving train near Wankaner town of the district, police said.
The incident took place this morning when Ratabhai Koli (42) alongwith his four children Manu (13), Madhu (12), Bhavna (9) and a four-year old son were lying on a railway track, police said.
A train passed over them killing Ratabhai, his four-year old son and Manu on the spot while Bhavna and Madhu were rushed to Rajkot civil hospital after being given primary treatment at Wankaner hospital, police said.

Initial investigations revealed that Ratabhai took the extreme step as he was facing severe financial crisis, they said.
