Family has narrow escape as plaster in govt flat collapses

A family had a narrow escape when a portion of the ceiling plaster collapsed at the government housing board flat in D-Block here today.
Police said Pandian, his wife and three daughters were enjoying a TV show when a small piece of plaster fell down. They immediately shifted to a corner when a huge piece of ceiling plaster spreading to more than four feet in diametre crashed down.
A TV, washing machine and other electrical goods in the hall were damaged.
People thronged the block on hearing the noise.
