A farmer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of a room at his residence in Galabari in this district, police said today.
Debaru Mohammed (43) committed suicide last night and his body was spotted by his family members this morning, police officials said.
The family of Mohammed has lodged an FIR with the local police station alleging that he had to take the extreme step as some Trinamool Congress supporters had grabbed his agricultural land.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, they said.
