Anand Pagare of Sayne Budruk village has started the petition last month in support of his appeal to Nashik collector and district Zilla Parishad CEO to construct a road in the village which will facilitate children to go to school.
Pagare today said that they have been demanding for a pucca road for the past 10 years now but no heed has been paid by the district administration.
"For the past 10 years, we have been running from pillar to post for a 'pucca' road. Over 100 school-going children and nearly 2000 farmers, labourers of my village and neighbouring villages are dependent on a poorly maintained kutcha road for commuting to the outside world," he said.
The petition has attracted widespread support with 500 people signing it.
"Year after year, only a small portion of the road is constructed and then the work stops. Due to poor quality, it soon gets damaged, causing severe problems for villagers," added Pagare.
