Santosh Soni, a resident of Chhatarpur district, was reportedly upset over not getting the compensation for his land which was acquired for laying a high-tension power line.
The incident occurred on the road in front of the Assembly, shortly after Chouhan had left the premises in afternoon.
"A 60-year old person, later identified as Santosh Soni, tried to breach the security when the CM's cavalcade arrived in front of the state assembly, but the traffic police overpowered him," Superintendent of Police, Bhopal South, Siddarth Bahuguna told PTI.
"Police are investigating his claim and related details," he added.
