Harinder (35) was arrested by the police on rape charges from Bulandshahr Roadways depot today morning when he was trying to flee the city.
The minor from Meerpur village here was found lying unconscious in a field by her parents Sunday night where she had been dumped after being raped, police said.
An FIR was lodged with the police by victims' parents but shockingly the staff of the women's police station detained the victim in lock-up where she spent several hours and was rescued only after locals protested over the matter.
The father of the victim, Shyamlal, later alleged that he and his family were warned of dire consequences if they spoke anything against the police to the media .
