Father of Nepal's first billionaire dead
Press Trust of India Kathmandu Loonkaran Das Chaudhary, father of Nepali's first billionaire of Indian-origin, died here today. He was 94.
He breathed his last at a hospital here. Loonkaran is survived by three sons and a daughter.
Loonkaran's son Binod Chaudhary, is the chairman of Chaudhary group, which has many businesses and industries. Popular Wai Wai noodle is one of the major products manufactured by Chaudhary group, which is also popular in India.
Loonkaran's father had moved to Nepal from India some 150 years ago.
In September, Forbes Asia had listed Binod with net worth of USD 1.41 billion.
