Female elephant found electrocuted

A nine-year-old female elephant was today found electrocuted on the fence of a banana farm which was illegally electrified, near Gudalur, some 80 km from here, officials said.
Noticing the carcass lying on the fence, people informed police and forest department officials.
DFO Tejasvi, after inspecting the spot, said power was supplied to the farm fence near Mayfield Estate, from the house of one Mohammed.
Two persons, who are cultivating banana at the farm on contract, have been taken into custody for interrogation, the DFO said.
