Following the humiliating defeat in Delhi polls, Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti today tried to put up a brave face by saying that expecting BJP to win every election in India is an expression of "feudal mindset".
"In democracy this (losing) happens. This is feudal mentality if we think that everywhere we have to win. This is feudal mindset. In democratic mindset, this happens. Anybody can form government in any state. In democratic system, any one can be defeated anywhere and one should accept it gracefully," Bharti said.
When asked what went wrong with BJP in the elections to Delhi Assembly, she said: "This is not the correct platform to discuss our shortcomings."
The senior BJP leader expressed happiness that Modi congratulated Kejriwal and said this shows the Prime Minister's "statesmanship and greatness".
"Day before yesterday, Modi ji spoke about Team India and now Arvind Kejriwal has also become one member of Team India," she said.
Bharti said the Central government will work in association with Delhi government to make it a clean city.
"Our ministry and our government will work to make Delhi a neat and clean national capital and hope that on the banks of Yamuna, if it is not Chinese then Japanese Prime Minister drinks a cup of tea," she said.
"In Delhi, Yamuna is very polluted. So I was waiting for this (elections) to get over and start discussion about Yamuna," she added.
