Police today registered an FIR against an Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader for allegedly assaulting a toll plaza manager and causing financial loss to the toll operator on Sohna-Gurgaon road near here.
Badshapur SHO Ram Chandra Singh said toll plaza manager Dharmender Jain had filed a complaint that INLD Sohna block president Satbir Pahlwan had beaten him badly when the toll operator demanded fees for the buses carrying INLD supporters to a rally.
The INLD supporters also forcibly allowed some other vehicles to pass the toll booth without paying the charges thereby causing losses for the toll operator, the manager alleged.
On the complaint, the Gurgaon police got a medical examination of Dharmender done and registered an FIR against Satbir and other supporters.
Satbir said he along with a fleet of buses were crossing the toll plaza around 8 AM yesterday, but the operators were dilly-dallying the process causing delay.
This led to a heated argument between some of the bus drivers and the toll attendants, Satbir said.
Satbir claimed that there are hundreds of complaints against the toll operator but the police and civil administration have failed to check the misdeeds.
Police have taken into custody the CCTV footage of the incident and are investigating the case, said the SHO, adding no arrest has so far been made.
