An FIR has been lodged against two directors of a private company for allegedly kidnapping a Dalit farmer and pressurising him to sell his land to the company in Gosaignaj town here, police said.
The FIR was lodged at Gosaiganj police station on the complaint given by senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur to SSP, Lucknow, Yashaswi Yadav on January 2 about the alleged criminal misconduct of the two directors.
It had been alleged that the two directors, both brothers, were pressurising a Dalit farmer, identified as Poslal, to sell his five bigha paternal land at throwaway prices.
Having failed in their purpose, they kidnapped him and took him to Mohanlalganj Tehsil on December 12 last year, but the latter escaped, police said.
On December 16, they allegedly abducted Poslal again from Gosaiganj and took him to Arjunganj residence of one of the accused, where he was tortured to sell his land.
The FIR was lodged under sections 147 (Punishment for rioting), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), 364 (Kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) and SC/ST Act, 1989.
As per the FIR registered yesterday, the private company involved has already sold around 170 plots and flats to various people without having adequate land and without a requisite approval is Lucknow Development Authority.
