Fire at chemical unit in Thane

A major portion of a chemical unit was gutted in fire at Boisar area here in the wee hours today, police said.
However, no one was hurt in the mishap, they said.
The blaze erupted at the Camlin Fine Chemicals unit at around 3 AM and engulfed the entire godown where the raw material was stored, Boisar police said.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, they said.
At least four fire tenders and over a dozen water tankers were pressed into service which managed to douse the flames after over five hours, they said.
