Fire breaks out after TV set explodes

A fire broke at a house after a television set exploded in Vasundhara area here this evening, but no one was injured, fire department officials said.
However, loss of property worth lakhs of rupees could not be ruled out, they added.
The incident took place around 4 PM when Prasun, along with her 13-year-old son Utkarsh, was watching a serial on the television set.
"When mother and son were watching the tv set, it suddenly exploded and the room was filled with smoke. Later, fire engulfed entire house," the official said.
As the fire engulfed the house, Prasun and Utkarsh rushed out of their house. They called fire department, which sent a fire tender to the spot.

"Flames were doused within few hours, but air conditioner, clothes, furniture and other valubles were gutted in the fire," he said.
