Fire breaks out in godown, no casualty

A fire broke out at a chemical godown at Tangra in the eastern part of the city on Monday, Fire Brigade officials said.

There was no report of any casualty in the fire, they said.

Ten fire tenders put off the flames, which broke out at around 5:30 pm, after three hours of fire fighting, the officials said.

The godown, stacked with chemicals, was located on D C Dey Road in Tangra locality in the eastern parts, officials said, adding that the cause of the fire was being ascertained.
