The blaze broke out in three departments - Information and Communication Technology, the Revenue and Land Settlement and the Higher and Technical Education departments housed in Mizoram's Civil Secretariat Annexe-I building last night, a senior police official said.
The flames gutted around Rs 100 lakh worth of government properties before firemen could douse it, Aizawl District SP Lalhuliana Fanai told PTI.
However, there was no report of injury or casualty in the incident.
Fanai said that though the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, electric short circuit could be the reason for the accident.
Fortunately, the data centre (e-governance room) remained unscathed.
