The first session of the newly-constituted Lok Sabha is likely to be held in the first week of June and the dates are expected to be finalised tomorrow at a Cabinet meeting.
"The Prime Minister has hit the ground from the very first day of his government," said new Law and Justice Minister Ravishankar Prasad after the first meeting of the Cabinet today.
"Tomorrow will be the second meeting in which various issues, including the Budget Session of Parliament, will be discussed," he said told reporters.
At today's meeting, "only two urgent issues" -- setting up a Special Investigation Team to unearth blackmoney and the relief measures for the victims of the Gorakhdham Express accident in Uttar Pradesh came up for discussions, he said.
The session is expected to be convened in the first week of next month to elect the Speaker and enable new members to take oath. The session will then have a break and in the second half, the government will present the General Budget and the Railway Budget.
The previous UPA government presented interim Budget for 2014-15 in February to cover expenditure till the end of this month.
