Fisherman injured in stone pelting by Sri Lankan navy

One fisherman suffered an eye injury when Sri Lankan naval personnel allegedly pelted stones at his boat off Katchathivu islet today, damaging it.
The fisherman was part of a group of about 3,500 who had put out to sea in 659 boats from here yesterday morning, Fishermen's Association President S Emiret told reporters.
He said the Sri Lankan naval personnel also damaged 50 fishing nets.
The injured fisherman has been hospitalised.
