Five electrocuted, four sustain burns

Five persons were today electrocuted and four others sustained burns when a tractor in which they were travelling came in contact with a high-tension wire near Kanakawadi village here, police said.
The incident took place when they were returning after immersing an idol of Lord Ganesh in the village lake, they said.
The wire had fallen to the ground and the vehicle came in contact with it. Some people in the vehicle managed to jump out but five persons suffered electric shock and died, while four others were injured, police said.
