Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan scored a facile 6-0, 6-2 win over Giulio Torroni of Italy on a day when four other Indians entered into the quarterfinals of the MCC-SR Subramaniam Memorial ITF Mens Futures at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium.
Third seeded Jeevan served strongly and played aggressive tennis to demolish his opponent.
The left-handed Elwin Antony played aggressively in the 2nd and 3rd sets scored a well deserved win over Vivek Shokeen, while Vijay Sundar Prashanth, V M Ranjeet and Vijayant Malik proved to be too good for their respective opponents.
Tak Khunn Wang of France upset the 2nd seed Sriram Balaji 6-2, 7-6(3) with his fluent serve and return. Sriram was outplayed in the first set and fought back in the second, but Wang kept his cool to win the tiebreak comfortably 7-3.
