The speeding SUV was on its way to Jharkhand from Kolkata when it overturned at Manikbazar area of Golti in the district at around 11.30 am killing its drivers, three occupants and a bystander who was waiting for a bus, they said.
The deceased were identified as Puspha Devi, Kumud Devi, Ichha Raj Devi, driver Afzal Sheikh and bystander Jyotsna Hakure.
The four injured were rushed to government hospital while three of them were discharged after first aid, one of the seriously injured was admitted to a private hospital.
