Three storage facilities with a capacity of 5,000 metric tonnes each at Nallampalli village in Dharmapuri district and two of 7,000 metric tonne each capacity at Nanjikottai village in Thanjavur district, were inaugurated by Palaniswami through video conferencing yesterday at a function at the secretariat.
The facilities were set up by the Tamil Nadu Warehousing Corporation.
The unveiling of new storage facilities comes in the backdrop of the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's announcement in the Assembly that such facilities would be set up by the Corporation, an official release said.
Minister for Co-operation 'Sellur' K Raju, Higher Education Minister K P Anbalagan, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies R Kamaraj were among those who were present on the occasion, it added.
