B Prasad, who ran a provisions shop in Sattenpalli town of the district, resorted to the extreme step along with his family members by consuming pesticide mixed in cold drinks around 2 PM as he had incurred losses in business, they said.
The neighbours noticed this and alerted the police, who shifted them in an ambulance to the nearest hospital where doctors declared them 'brought dead', a senior police official told PTI over phone.
A suicide note purportedly written by Prasad stated that financial problems drove him and his family members to suicide, besides his health was also not well to run the business and no one was responsible for their death, police said.
A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations were on.
