All ships and establishments of Eastern Naval Command including outstations units from Tamil Nadu area took part in the event which was held at INS Dega here.
The aim of the event was to popularise sports of cross-country amongst service personnel and to select ENC X-country team.
The cross-country was conducted over a distance of twelve kilometres within the premises of the Naval Air Station, INS Dega and the participants were grouped into seven teams of 12 runners each. The Championship was governed by the rules of International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) and Athletics Federation of India (AFI).
Commodore Debanil Bhattacharya, Commanding Officer, INS Dega was the chief guest for the event and gave away prizes to individual winners and trophies of the winning teams, a navy release said here today.
