According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), more than 2.85 lakh people are currently affected across 386 villages in ten districts.
Till yesterday, nearly eight lakh people were affected by the floods across 638 villages in 14 districts.
The death toll in the current wave of floods stood at 34 across the state.
As of now, the affected districts were Jorhat, Golaghat, Bongaigaon, Dhemaji, Barpeta, Dhubri, Morigaon, Kokrajhar, Nagaon and Goalpara.
Among them, Barpeta was the worst affected with nearly one lakh people still suffering, followed by Dhubri with over 80,000 and Goalpara with almost 40,000 people currently hit by the floods, the ASDMA said.
Nearly 13,000 hectares of crop area was under flood water across the state.
Currently, the Brahmaputra was flowing above the danger mark at Nematighat in Jorhat and Dhubri town.
