Taking a serious note of the "irresponsible and highly undesirable utterances" of the former MP and senior leader from Punjab, state Congress President Pratap Singh Bajwa today issued show cause notice to him seeking explanation for his conduct by August 5.
Bajwa said the notice had been issued following the directive from the AICC General Secretary and in charge of Punjab affairs, Shakeel Ahmed.
The PPCC chief asserted he had gone through his statement appearing in the media criticising the party leadership which had been taken seriously "as such irresponsible behaviour is not expected from a leader like him who had the privilege of enjoying the confidence of the party President for years."
