A few months after leaving the White House as a key member of the Obama Administration, John Podesta told his lobbyist brother that he is helping Ford Foundation in resolving its issues with the Indian Government but acknowledged that Greenpeace issue would be a tough one to resolve, according to a latest Wikileaks email.
The email in this regard was written by Podesta, who is now chairman of the Clinton Campaign, to his brother Tony Podesta, on May 28, 2015.
Tony of the Podesta Group is a registered lobbyist and among others lobbyist on behalf of the Indian Government at the US Congress and the Government.
"Want to talk to the head of Greenpeace? Kumi Naidoo is a very well known South African with a big international following, but I think GOI (Government of India) likely to stick it to them," John wrote in his email.
"Separately, I am trying to help Ford Foundation which also got on the wrong side of GOI, but whose case I think can be more easily resolved," he told his younger brother as per the email released by wikileaks.
John has refused to comment on the authenticity of the emails.
The Clinton Campaign alleges that these emails were hacked by the Russian Government.
Tony in response offers to have a lunch with the Indian Ambassador with him. He says he is happy to "talk to them."
The email is part of the conversation in which environmental group Greenpeace seeks help from Podesta in resolving the issue with the Indian Government.
