24-year-old Patrick James was arrested under section 3 of Indian Passport Act and 3/14 of The Foreigners Act for violation of both acts, DCP Ravi Dutt Gaur told PTI here.
Seventeen notes of 100 Euro currency which Patrick wanted to exchange at a traveller's office was also stopped for payment, the DCP said.
Patrick possessed a passport of Lesotho country but on verification the Lesotho Embassy in Delhi did not confirm it and foreigner's antecedents, the DCP said.
Further investigation is on, he said adding that the accused is being interrogated at the Vidhyakpuri Thana.
